Description
Along the shingle shore at Étretat, on the Normandy coast, fishing boats rest hauled up from the sea. Monet painted this working stretch of beach in 1885, drawn to the dialogue between the sturdy wooden hulls and the pale, restless water beyond. The brushwork is brisk and confident, the palette cool and salt-washed, catching the particular grey-blue light of the Channel coast he returned to again and again.
Our version is hand-painted in oils to order by a trained studio artist, worked patiently on artist-grade cotton canvas to echo Monet’s texture and colour. Choose your size and framing on this page. Each commission is created just for you and ships free worldwide.
