Description
The Manneporte is the largest of the great natural arches at Étretat, a vast doorway of chalk through which the Channel surges, and Monet painted it in 1883 with awe at its scale. The cliff rises monumental above the churning sea, its stone catching the changing coastal light while spray and swell break at its base. The composition dwarfs the viewer, setting human vision against the raw grandeur of the Normandy coast.
Our reproduction is hand-painted in oils to order by a skilled studio artist, built in layers on artist-grade cotton canvas to hold the mass of the rock and the movement of the sea. Choose your size and framing on this page. Every piece is made to order and ships free worldwide.
