Description
Trees, Cloud and Turquoise Water
Dark trees fill the left side and lower edge of Monet’s Coastal Landscape. Beyond the foliage, a narrow turquoise strip of sea meets a low horizon. Grey and pale blue clouds occupy much of the sky. The small roof among the trees is the only sign of a building; no people appear in the scene.
The original belongs to the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam, accession s0461S1996. Its catalogue dates the work to about 1864 and places the view in Normandy, probably near Honfleur. Monet painted it in oils on canvas, 53 cm high and 80.4 cm wide.
A Hand-Painted Oil Reproduction
The main edition is painted by hand in oils on canvas, with natural handmade variation in the brushwork. A canvas art print is also available. In the print, the dark foliage and the marks in the clouds are reproduced in ink; the oil edition has a new physical paint surface.
Landscape Formats and Framing
The eight sizes currently offered run from 30 × 46 cm to 150 × 228 cm and keep the horizontal composition. Presentation choices are rolled canvas, canvas on a wooden stretcher, a thin frame or a thick frame. Rolled canvas arrives without a stretcher and needs mounting or framing before hanging.
We send a photograph of the finished hand-painted oil order for your approval before dispatch. Both editions are made to order and ship free worldwide. The size and presentation selectors show the available configuration and price for your chosen medium.
