Description
At Giverny, Monet built a water garden crossed by a green Japanese footbridge, and in 1899 he painted it in a celebrated series of which this is one. The arched bridge spans a pond dense with lilies and reflected willows, the water a tapestry of green, blue and rose. Here the garden he had made with his own hands becomes the subject of his art, a private paradise transformed into a study of colour, reflection and quiet light.
Our reproduction is hand-painted in oils to order by a skilled studio artist, built in patient layers on artist-grade cotton canvas to capture the depth of the pond and the arc of the bridge. Choose your size and framing on this page. Every piece is made to order and ships free worldwide.
