Description
Near Vétheuil the Seine broke into wooded islets, and in 1880 Monet painted the Ile aux Fleurs from his boat, low on the water. Slender trees and reeds rise from the near bank, their greens doubled in the calm river, while the far shore softens into light. The brushwork is quick and feathery, the palette fresh and tender, capturing the intimate, enclosed world of the river as only a painter working from the water could.
Our reproduction is hand-painted in oils to order by a skilled studio artist, built in layers on artist-grade cotton canvas to hold the reflections and river green. Choose your size and framing on this page. Every piece is made to order and ships free worldwide.
