Description
During his 1908 visit to Venice, Monet painted the Palazzo Dario rising from the Grand Canal, its ornate marble facade dissolving into the reflections that ripple beneath it. Water, stone and sky become a single field of shimmering colour, mauve and rose and green, in which the old palace seems to float. It is a late, ravishing meditation on light and reflection, the lagoon offering Monet a fresh version of the water he had studied all his life.
Our version is hand-painted in oils to order by a trained studio artist, worked in delicate layers on artist-grade cotton canvas to echo Monet’s Venetian palette. Select your size and framing on this page; each commission is made just for you and ships free worldwide.
