Description
The Water-Lily Pond, Evening is a broad view of Monet’s pond, with a yellow reflection near the centre and dark blue, red and violet passages around it. The image extends across a wide horizontal canvas; there is no bridge or figure.
Kunsthaus Zürich catalogues the original, Le Bassin aux nymphéas, le soir, as an oil on canvas dating from 1914–1922. It measures 200 cm high by 600 cm wide. The museum records it under inventory 1952/0064, a gift from Emil G. Bührle in 1952.
The yellow area is interrupted by small marks and reflections rather than a clear horizon. Across the upper edge, darker colour hangs above the lighter centre; blue and violet strokes gather towards the lower part of the pond. These details distinguish this evening composition from Monet’s paintings with a Japanese bridge or a bank seen in daylight.
Our main offering is a hand-painted oil reproduction on canvas, made to order. A canvas print of the same image is also available. Choose from the listed panoramic sizes; presentation options depend on the size and medium selected.
