Description
In the last decade of his life, Monet gave himself almost entirely to the lily pond at Giverny, painting its surface in vast, immersive canvases. This work, from around 1916 to 1919, dispenses with horizon and bank altogether; there is only water, lilies and the reflected sky, drawn into a floating field of blue, green and rose. Bold, near-abstract and profoundly meditative, these late paintings are among the summits of his art.
Our reproduction is hand-painted in oils to order by a skilled studio artist, built in generous layers on artist-grade cotton canvas to capture the depth and drift of the water. Choose your size and framing on this page. Every piece is made to order and ships free worldwide.
