Description
In 1881 Monet gathered sunflowers into a vase and painted them with the same open-air freedom he brought to his gardens. The blooms crowd the canvas in a blaze of yellows, ochres and deep browns, their heavy heads set against a cool ground so that the colour seems to hum. It is a joyful, generous still life, the flowers rendered not as botanical specimens but as living bursts of light and pigment.
Our version is hand-painted in oils to order by a trained studio artist, worked in rich impasto on artist-grade cotton canvas to echo Monet’s texture and colour. Select your size and framing on this page; each commission is created just for you and ships free worldwide.
